Bob Parker

Hi Bob,

This sounds like you have some warpage going on with your rotors. To fix this you need to bring your car into a brake shop or dealership to get them machined down.

Most brake specialists that have the equipment required to lathe rotors will charge a lot less than a dealership, so I suggest you find a private shop that has a good consumer rating.

Front end shakes when I apply the brakes going down a hill or if i am going fast.

Frank Frost

Hi Frank,

It sounds like there are a couple of things going on with your Tacoma.

First, the shaking when your brake is most likely warped rotors. Most places, although some are cheaper than others, will machine your rotors for around $50 a wheel and should only take about an hour.

Second, the shaking when you're going fast probably means your alignment is out. A good but cheap place will align your wheels for around $40, and that should only take an hour or so.

Hi Jane,

The cost of replacing the windshield for your Camry can vary greatly depending on your insurance coverage, and the company you go through.

If you don't have comprehensive coverage, you're looking at around $300 or so at the most.

So shop around and go with the guys that have the best consumer report for a price you can afford.
