95 deville fuel pump 1995 Cadillac Deville Fuel Pump Replacement $625 $1210Total cost for fuel pump replacement???

Nicole Turner

Hi Nicole,

A fuel pump replacement will vary depending on parts and labor. Here's what you can expect to pay on average:

Parts= $75-$310 depending on the quality of the part and if it's used or new.

Labor= 3-5 hours which will cost roughly $550-$900 depending on the shop's hourly rate.

Total= $625-$1210

This is not a job to attempt yourself unless you have some serious ability to work on cars, because you'll have to drain the gas tank just to get to the pump.

I have a 2003 Toyota Matrix that I believe needs a new fuel pump.  How much would this cost to have it replaced and installed?  Benny R. Glendale, Arizona.

We asked a couple of repair shops in our network and found the following.  We're told it will take about 2 to 3 hours of labor, a new fuel pump and various filters and gaskets.

We found the fuel pump part to range from about $190 to $267 online.

Total cost to have it installed will probably range from $400 to $550 - not including tax, disposal fees and other miscellaneous expenses.

Fuel System Components

The fuel system feeds your engine the gasoline/diesel it needs to run. If any of the fuel systems components fail your vehicle will not run. The major parts of your fuel system are as follows.

Fuel Tank: Holding tank for your fuel. When you fill up, the fuel travels down the filler tube into the tank. In the tank there is a sending unit which relays the amount of fuel in the tank to the fuel gauge.
