 Land Cruiser and select Camry models including all Camry hybrids.

If the serial number on your vehicle begins with a JT, the vehicle was built in Japan and is also not affected.

Two brake pedal manufactures Denso – has an imprint of an eagle on the side of the gas pedal arm – these are not affected but to be certain you have a Denso pedal, it is suggested that you still visit a dealer.

CTS – is the manufacturer of the affected pedal and it needs to be replaced.

The problem is that the rod connected to the pedal assembly may corrode causing it not to smoothly operate. After usage it appears to stick or become tight when applying pressure on the pedal. Toyota is replacing the entire assembly.

 Recall Process:

It is expected that dealers will receive the replacement pedal assembly at the very earliest Friday February 5th but probably not until Monday February 8th. The repair will take approximately 45 minutes. It is recommended that one ask for the “recall coordinator” when calling a local Toyota Dealer. Many dealers will be extending service hours until 9PM on weekdays and also be open for recall service on weekends Saturday and Sunday, until this matter is completed.
