Toyota’s U.S.- Toyota Japan Disconnect Americans have Little Power
Toyota Motor Corp. has spent 20 years telling the U.S. consumers how deeply it has sunk it's roots into America.
The disconnect between Toyoat U.S.A. and Toyota Japan, as well as Toyota sales and manufacturing in the U.S. partly accounts for the giant's current problem, recalls, lawsuits and public scoldings according to the testimony of congress last week.
Jim Lentz, president of Toyota Motor Sale U.S.A. and Toyota's highest ranking U.S. sales executive, admitted under Capitol Hill questioning last week that decisions about whether to recall U.S. products for safety issues are all made in Japan.
The president of U.S. Jim Lentz was asked if any of Toyota's safety personal reported to him, and he said they don't. And he admitted that the centralized control of product issues is controlled in Japan making it difficult for U.S. voices to be heard.
