In contrast to the previous recalls this year, Toyota wasted little time recalling the Lexus GX 460 SUV for roll-over related risks.  Approximately 10,000 affected vehicles have been sold in the USA.  Earlier this month, Toyota suspended sales of the SUV partly in response to a story by Consumer Reports, where personnel from the magazine uncovered a potential problem related to stability and potential roll over risk.

Toyota said Lexus dealers will update the software in the Vehicle Stability Control system and the work is expected to take about 1 hour per vehicle.

In addition, Toyota is offering free loaner vehicles to GX460 owners who do not want to drive their vehicles because of the potential problem.
