2003 Pontiac Vibe Brake Repiar Estimate $310-$580
Replace brakes include new rotors on front and turn drums on back?
This is a fairly quick and easy repair for most shops that shouldn't cost you too much. Here's what you can expect to pay on average:
Parts= Brake Pads $40-85 per pad, Rotors $25-$55 per rotor depending on the quality of the parts.
Labor= 1.5-2.5 $180-$300 depending on the part's hourly rate and/or rate per wheel, and the skill of the mechanic.
Most shops charge a flat rate for turning drum brakes, usually in the ball park of $50-$75 per drum, which I included in the labor portion of the estimate.
This repair is an easier intermediate level job that requires minimal tools, and is a great way to get better acquainted with your Vibe.
If you don't mind getting a little dirty, I suggest finding a repair manual and doing the work yourself. It'll save you a bundle in labor costs.
You can usually find a repair manual online to download for free, but if you can't track one down, your local parts wholesalers like AutoZone and NAPA should have one for around $25.
The manual will have detailed instructions and diagrams to walk you through the repair.
