Hi Angela,

This is going to be an expensive and time consuming repair. Here's what you can expert on average in terms of parts and labor:

Parts= $1,000-$1,600 depending on the quality of the motor.

Labor= 1-2 days $300-$500 depending on the shop's hourly rate and the skill of the mechanic.

Total= $1,300-$2,100+

The cost of replacing your motor will be hefty, but will probably be more reliable than rebuilding it. Also, rebuilding it won't be too much cheaper especially if you decide to go with high end replacement parts.

Used engines from ebay, and pulling one from a spent 300M in the junkyard are your best bet to save in the thousands.
