Engine replaced.
Deborah Watts
Hi Deborah,
This is going to be an expensive and time consuming job. The cost of replacing your engine will come down to parts and labor. Here's what you can expect to pay on average:
Parts= $700-$2,050 depending on the quality of the engine.
Labor= 4 hours- 1 day $250-$420 depending on the shop's hourly rate and the skill of the mechanic.
Total= $950-$2,470+
I'd suggest you look up the Kelly Blue Book value of your car in its current condition. If the cost of the repair is more than what the car itself is worth, it might be time to cut your losses and go shopping for a new ride.
