Hi David,

The cost of replacing your brake pads and shoes will come down to parts and labor. Here's what you can expect to pay on average:

Parts= $ 10-$65 depending on the quality of the pads.

Labor= 1-2 hours $75-$150 depending on the shop's hourly rate and the skill of the mechanic.

Total= $85-$215+

If you don't mind getting a little dirty and working with your hands,    I'd suggest you try this repair on your own to cut back on expensive labor costs.

Replacing brake pads  is on the easier side of an intermediate level fix, and requires minimal tools.

Go online and download a free tutorial to walk you through the repair; there are a ton of them on youtube.

Once you've done this on your own, you'll never pay to have it done again.
