LADIES BE SURE YOUR PRINCE CHARMING CAN CHANGE A TIRE

Tonight is the night after months of chatting online, the first date.

The sleek black convertible pulls up into her drive way, top down ready for a night out.  Tall, dark and handsome is walking up to her door with a bouquet of white roses.   The moon is full with an amazing orange, they cruise along a remote country road, Sinatra singing “Summer Wind.”   He was just about to reach over to take her hand.

Out of nowhere, the smooth tunes of Sinatra are replaced with the thumping noise of a flat tire.

Here they are on a narrow two-lane highway with nothing but wildlife and fresh air -- the last place you want to get a flat tire or a breakdown of any kind.

This dream date is about to take a wrong turn.

Prince Charming has never changed a tire, and this was not the time or place to learn.  No, he did not have any emergency tire repair product, either.  He was hoping his date would not see him attempting to read the owner’s book .

Did I tell you there is no cell service?  Or that it is mosquito season?

This is going to be an expensive lesson.  Unfortunately for the prince, he needs a wheel lock to remove his  lug bolts . He keeps playing mechanic and in the process,   breaks several lug bolts in half.

Three hours later, he gets a moment of cell service, and two hours later the tow truck arrives.

Not all cars require a wheel lock.  If your car requires a wheel lock, you need to know where it is at all times. When you have your car serviced, be sure to give the wheel lock to your service advisor and be sure to get it back when you pick up your car.

And you should check tire air pressure at every fill up.  Make checking your own spare tire a new habit. Even if it’s never been used, it does not mean it’s in good condition.  You want to know how to use all the tools and have an inventory list checking all is where it should be at all times. After all, it’s your ride.

Back to our story:  It was an eventful ride back in the crowded cab of the tow truck. The tow truck driver  fought with his soon to be ex – wife on his cell phone. The more  angry she made him, the faster he drove.  The cab of the truck smelled of cigar smoke & some other unknown foul smell.

The dream ended quickly as she jumped out of the tow truck & never looked back.

Just when he thought things could not get any worse, he got the repair bill.
