Replacing a battery on your car’s keyless remote
Replacing a battery on your car's keyless remote should not be difficult. However, sometimes when you turn the remote around, and around in your hands it doesn't seem obvious how to open it. Some remotes do not even say what kind of battery you need to replace the old ones. You will first need to get it open to get a look at the old battery in order to figure out your replacement battery.
On some remotes, if you look at the back of your device you may see text that will spell out what type of battery you need. For example, on the back of an Infinity remote is says "USE CR2025 BATTERY." That makes getting the new matching battery task a little less complicated.
In any case you will have to open the remote. Some remotes may have a little groove or slot for a coin to open the battery compartment, place a coin that fits the slot and twist it open. Some remotes may have one or more tiny screws which need to be removed in order to open the remote.
Once the cover is off you should see the old battery inside. Take note on which way it is facing (e.g. + or - on top) so you know how to put the new one in. Pop the new battery in and close the cover. You are done.
Occasionally there is a groove on the side wall of the remote rather than in the back, put a coin or a tiny screwdriver in that slot, twist gently and the remote control will pop apart.
