How to check by yourself if your brake lights are working
If your brake lights are not working you can get a ticket or rear ended. To avoid any unnecessary money leaving your hand or repairs or even injury it is good to periodically check to make sure your brake lights are working.
No it can be a hassle to ask somebody to help you, especially when you can quickly do it by yourself. Grab a broomstick or a mop and you are ready. That's right.
Put one end of the broom stick or mop on the brake pedal and push it down. While the pedal is pushed down, push the other end of the stick against the seat. Now the stick is propped between the pedal and the seat back. Take a couple of step around to the back of the car and check if the brake lights are working. That's it.
If the brake lights or one of them is out, you can replace the light by yourself or take the car in to a repair shop to have it changed as soon as possible.
